The working principle of the injection molding machine is to heat and melt thermoplastic or thermosetting plastic and then inject the plastic into the mold through a plunger or screw to achieve the molding of products of various shapes. According to different mechanical structures, they can generally be divided into vertical injection molding machines, horizontal injection molding machines, and all-electric injection molding machines. What different products are these three injection molding machines suitable for?
Today we will first talk about the working principle and advantages of vertical injection molding machines.
A. Working principle of vertical injection molding machine:
The plastic injection molding machine uses the thrust of the screw (or plunger) to inject plasticized plastic in a molten state (i.e. viscous flow state) into a closed mold cavity, and then obtains the product after solidification and shaping. Injection molding is a cyclic process, and each cycle mainly includes: quantitative feeding - melting and plasticizing - pressure injection - mold filling and cooling - mold opening and removal. After taking out the plastic part, the mold is closed again and the next cycle is carried out.
B. Advantages of vertical injection molding machine:
1. The injection device and the mold clamping device are on the same vertical center line, and the mold opens and closes in the up and down direction. Its floor space is only about half that of a horizontal machine, so its productivity is about twice as large as the floor space.
2. Vertical injection molding machine can easily realize insert molding. Because the mold surface faces upward, insert placement is easy. Using a model with a fixed lower platen and a movable upper platen, fully automatic insert molding can be easily achieved by combining a belt conveyor with a robot.
3. The weight of the mold of the vertical injection molding machine is supported by the horizontal template for up and down opening and closing movements. There will be no phenomenon like the horizontal machine that the mold cannot fall forward due to the gravity of the mold, making the template unable to open or close. Helps maintain the accuracy of machinery and molds over time.
4. The vertical injection molding machine can take out each plastic part cavity through a simple manipulator, which is conducive to precision molding.
5. Generally, the surrounding area of the mold clamping device is open, which makes it easy to configure various automation devices and is suitable for the automatic molding of complex and delicate products.
6. The belt conveyor device of the vertical injection molding machine can be easily installed through the middle of the mold to facilitate automatic molding production.
7. Vertical injection molding machines are easier to ensure the consistency of resin fluidity and mold temperature distribution in the mold than horizontal injection molding machines.
8. Equipped with rotating table, movable table and tilting table, it is easy to realize insert molding and in-mold combination molding.
9. When the vertical injection molding machine is used for small-batch trial production, the mold structure is simple, low-cost, and easy to disassemble and assemble.
10. Vertical injection molding machines have withstood the test of many earthquakes. Due to their low center of gravity, vertical injection molding machines have better earthquake resistance than horizontal machines.
